The Alpen Schuhplattlers are practicing for our fall performance season. We look forward to sharing our love of the traditional dances, culture, and costumes of Bavaria at festivals across Western Pennsylvania.
Upcoming public performances include:
- McKeesport International Village, August 20 @ Renzie Park, McKeesport. Performance at 8pm. McKeesport’s annual folk festival features food, music, and dancing from the immigrant nationalities that make the Pittsburgh area great! https://internationalvillage.info/
- Teutonia Public Oktoberfest, September 4 @ Teutonia Männerchor. The Schuhplattlers will dance on Friday evening, time TBA (usually during the band break). Join us in the fest tent!
- Erie German Heritage Festival, September 5-6 @ St. Nick’s Grove, 5131 Old French Road, Erie PA. The Erie German Heritage Festival features German music, German food, German vendors, German beer, and best of all, the Schuhplattlers! - Booktoberfest, September 25 @ Penn Hills Library. We’re dancing at the Penn Hills Library’s annual benefit. Performance time 7 pm.
- Scott Township Oktoberfest, October 3 @ Scott Township Park. Performance starts at 1 pm.
- Columbus Day Parade, October 10 @ Liberty Avenue, Bloomfield. Parade starts at 11 am.
